A winter sports strong start -- Century's Marcinko sets program record
A roundup of boys and girls basketball games from Dec. 5-6, 2022.
Andrew Marcinko is picking up where he left off last season.
The Century guard earned CMSportsNet Boys Basketball Player of the Year honors last season, when he was second in the county in scoring and first in 3-point percentage and free-throw percentage. Marcinko is back to lead the Knights in his senior season, which began Dec. 6 with a road game against Tuscarora.
All Marcinko did was drain nine 3-pointers in Century's 64-47 victory.
The reigning Carroll County Athletic League champion Knights got 36 points from Marcinko and 11 from Jake Winkles, who combined with Ben Chenoweth for 11 rebounds.
Marcinko set a Century record for 3-pointers in a game.
