Multimedia Content Producer 
 

HOURLY RATE: $15.00-$16.00
STANDARD HOURS: Less than part time, on demand schedule to include evenings and weekends

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in media production, broadcast, communications or related field; 1 or
more years’ employment/experience in television production, including familiarity with studio and field production
equipment.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
● Professional communication and public relations skills
● Skilled with video/audio/computer systems, routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
● Software programs including Final Cut Pro or Premier
● Ability to take direction and instructions from management
● Ability to manage time and assignments with minimal supervision
● Skilled with video/audio/computer systems

● Must be able to climb ladders, stand for long periods of time and be able to lift up to 50 pounds
● Age 21 or older

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
● At the direction of Multi-Media Management
o Setup and operate production equipment for all CMC events, studio and field productions
o Production of content on any and all of CMC’s projects or productions
o Cover municipal events, public meetings, assist with scripts web and television productions
o Develops and updates motion graphics for current and previous content.
o Maintain project records
o Able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends
o Performs duties related to specific assignments

Multimedia Production Internship 

Internship Type:  Temporary unpaid

Openings:  Fall, Winter and Spring semesters

Overview:  The Multimedia Production Intern is responsible for support and supplemental duties related to community productions at the Community Media Center (CMC).  This position will record, produce, edit, and distribute CMC content related to CMC members and Carroll County community engagement. This position will also be exposed to local PEG station operations and its relationship with the community.  Position’s expected weekly commitment: between 6-10 hours minimum.  High school and college students are encouraged to apply.  This internship is unpaid, eligible for academic or course credit if approved by your educational institution.  

 

Education/Experience:

This is an unpaid entry level internship position so a background in editing and narrative storytelling through media is preferred but not required.  Initiative, self-management, and great communication skills are essential. 

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

● Able to climb ladders, stand for long periods of time and be able to lift up to 50 pounds

● Ability to operate video production equipment

● Operate Mac OS operating systems

● Ability to work independently and provide instructional leadership

● Familiar with Social Media and online video distribution platforms

● Possess good oral and written communication skills and multitasking abilities

● Flexible Schedule to attend CMC member events outside of CMC facility office hours

● Ability to navigate and utilize Google Suite

● Reliable transportation

● Ability to provide feedback to CMC staff on a regular basis to help improve the internship program

 

Essential Job Functions:

● Produce supplementary materials for community productions or CMC promotional material

● Create and operate animated graphics for studio programs using ROSS Xpression Studio

● Edit visual and audio elements into packages for narrative or promotional purposes using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

● Complete CMC member equipment check outs and check ins ensuring accuracy of returns and longevity of equipment.

● Creating educational materials like handouts, posters, etc to provide members with tips on how to use equipment or video production techniques.

● Organize and maintain CMC studio and other areas in the facility

● Plan and coordinate CMC Media Makers studio productions

● All other duties assigned by Multimedia Management Staff

Marketing and Graphic Design Internship 

Internship Type:  Temporary unpaid

Overview:  The Marketing and Graphic Design Intern is responsible for assisting the Marketing Director with continued branding and outreach of the Community Media Center.  This position will work under the Marketing Director to promote CMC and community events/productions through social media, video, print materials, and maintain relationships with our partners.  Position?s expected weekly commitment: between 6-8 hours minimum.  High school and college students are encouraged to apply.  This internship is unpaid, eligible for academic or course credit if approved by your educational institution.  *McDaniel College students in need of transportation should contact Daniel Dehollander, Director of Career Development for more information.

Education/Experience: 
1 year of graphic design instruction and Photoshop experience required. Experience with Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, In Design a plus.  Experience with animation or nonlinear editing is helpful but not required. This is an unpaid entry level internship position so a background in marketing is preferred but not required.  Initiative, self-management, and great communication skills are essential. 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiar with Graphic Design tools (Adobe or other online graphic tools)
  • Familiar with Social Media and online video distribution platforms
  • Knowledge of photo composition to take photos for marketing purposes
  • Typography design knowledge
  • Ability to operate OSX and PC operating systems
  • Ability to utilize Google Suite
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design static graphics and/or animations for various CMC and community productions for use on multiple platforms (Including but not limited to: print, broadcast, social media, billboards, marketing specialties)
  • Assist with creation of CMSportsNet graphics, videos, social media and marketing materials
  • Create and schedule digital signage promotional bulletins
  • Research and curate the ?Top 5 things? community calendar each week
  • Assist Marketing Director with web design and implementation
  • Prepare presentations or infographics for various audiences to promote the CMC
  • Research and recommend social media marketing plans
  • Develop instructional quick guides for the Marketing team
  • Take photos of CMC events to promote the organization
