Baltimore Touchdown Club's Super 22 Team has Carroll glow

Find out which county football players made the preseason all-star squad!

Always fun to talk high school football in the summer, and an annual tradition comes from the Baltimore Touchdown Club's Super 22 Team.

The team is made up of rising seniors and was created by Maryland high school football coaches. Players were evaluated on their junior year stats, video highlights, performances at combines, and coaches reports.

It's sort of a preseason all-star team, and this year Carroll County has 8 players on the roster.

OFFENSE

Quarterback

Chase Miller, Liberty: Miller threw for 1,710 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior, and both numbers led the Carroll County Athletic League. 

Tight End

Tristan West, Liberty: The Lions athlete shined with 34 catches, 815 yards, and 8 touchdowns last fall. West's yards and TDs led all CCAL pass-catchers. He also averaged 24 yards per catch.

Offensive Line

Jacob Vasquez, Winters Mill: Listed at 5-foot-10, 225 pounds last fall, Vasquez helped the Falcons post a 9-2 record and they rushed for more than 2,250 yards as a team.

 

DEFENSE

Defensive Line

James Graham, South Carroll: Listed at 6-2, 216 pounds last season, Graham collected 71 tackles (13 tackles for loss) and 15 QB hurries for the Cavaliers. He added 5 sacks, tops on the team, and 3 forced fumbles.

Jake Robinson, Manchester Valley: Listed as a 2-way lineman last season, Robinson played in 6 games for the Mavericks with 16 tackles (5 for loss), 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.

Defensive Back

Rakim Warfield, Westminster: Listed as a WR/DB last season, Warfield totaled 21 tackles for the county champion Owls. He also hauled in 4 interceptions to lead the team.

Kicker

Braden Fritz, Manchester Valley: Fritz finished with 42 points on the season in part by connecting on 24 PATs and 6 field goals. He also snagged a touchdown for the Mavericks.

Cannon Hunter, South Carroll: Hunter finished with 25 points for the Cavs on 13 PATs and 4 field goals. He sent SC into overtime against Winters Mill in Week 6 with a game-tying field goal.
