Carroll County Invitational swim meet still a summertime splash

Carroll County started an invitational swimming meet for local youths in 1987. Four teams participated, and anyone who wasn't on a team participated as an individual.

Thirty-five years later, the Carroll County Invitational meet is still going strong. The annual event took place July 20 at South Carroll Swim Club, where 330 participants from seven county teams competed and had fun doing so.

This year's CCI saw three records go down, and plenty of swimmers gobbling up medals and ribbons. Teams participating were Coppermine 4 Seasons, Freedom, North Carroll, Nottingham, South Carroll, Westminster Swim Team, and Westminster Riding Club.
