Winters Mill racks up USA Lacrosse High School Awards honors
The Falcons boys team was recognized by the national organization.
USA Lacrosse has its High School Awards out for 2023 on the girls and boys side, and once again we've got some Carroll County names on the nationwide list.
We unveiled the girls lacrosse winners a few weeks ago, so now it's time to showcase the boys -- and they all come from Winters Mill High School this season.
All-America
Reed Postlethwait, junior, midfield
The CMSportsNet Player of the Year led Carroll County in scoring with 72 points on 55 goals (tops in the county) and 17 assists, and was part of a Falcons team that went 13-2 this spring.
All-Academic
Sam Miller, senior, defense
Miller helped anchor a WM defense that allowed 7.6 goals per game, and 7.3 per game against Carroll County foes.
Coach of the Year
Darian Meador (Maryland-Carroll Co.)
Meador guided this year's Falcons to a 13-3 record, which included 5-1 in the Carroll County Athletic League. WM's lone CCAL loss came against rival Westminster, 9-7.
The Falcons improved from a 6-8 record (3-3 in the county) in 2022.
