Check out the Manchester Volunteer Fire Company Carnival, On Wednesday, it's the Taneytown Independence Day Celebration, Stars, Stripes, and Spurs in Westminster and the Mount Airy Farmers Market. On the 4th head over to the Farm Museum for the Carroll County 4th of July Celebration. On Friday FLICC presents the movie, Cold Mountain at Carroll Arts Center and on Saturday head over to the Ag Center where it's Christmas in July at the Farmer’s Market . Common Ground on the Town presents: Kristen Grainger and True North. and get ready 'cause the Winfield Community VFD Carnival kicks off on Monday!

2. Taneytown Independence Day Celebration

3. Mount Airy Farmers Market
July 3rd from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m
Want the opportunity to buy some of the best locally and regionally grown produce and products? Come to the 2024 Mount Airy Farmers Market where dozens of full and part time vendors will be offering these amazing goods.
Now proudly under the vibrant management of our fantastic town, the 2024 Mount Airy Farmers Market is set to be the best one yet!
Running on Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m. June 12 to Oct. 2, the market will now be held in our beautiful Watkins Park with ample space and parking for vendors and visitors alike.
We have a number of exciting additions to the market so don't miss out on being a part of one of the biggest events of the summer!
4. Stars, Stripes, and Spurs
July 3rd from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Stars, Stripes, and Spurs, 6-9 PM at City Park. Kick up your heels and join us for an unforgettable evening of fun. Learn how to line dance with instruction by Kick Up the Dust, enjoy root beer floats, yard games, and adult beverages by CPGB. Pack a picnic dinner, dust off your boots, and join us for this free event! Need some extra pizazz? Purchase a ticket online to create your own Western hat with Turquoise Trailer, on site!
5. Carroll County 4th of July Celebration
July 4 @ 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Join us on July 4th for Carroll’s largest fireworks display at our Fourth of July Celebration starting at 4pm with fireworks going off at sundown (approximately 9:30pm). Admission is $10 per car. There will be food, live entertainment, children’s activities and more. Rain date is July 5 for fireworks only. Please stay tuned for more details.

Please no pets, outside alcohol, glass containers, fireworks/sparklers, grills, skateboards/bikes/wheelies/hoverboards/scooters/etc, or popup tents/overhead shades. Overheads sun shades/tents pose a fire safety risk & obstruct the view of other guests–they are not permitted.
TRAFFIC ALERT:
To facilitate a safe and orderly traffic flow from the event the following roadways will be closed to all traffic at 8:30 pm and will remain closed until all the traffic has cleared after the fireworks:
- Center Street – From MD 140 to MD 32
- Gist Road – From MD 32 to Kate Wagner Road
- Kate Wagner Road – From MD 32 to MD 27
- Hook Road – From MD 32 to the High School Entrance
- Smith Avenue – From MD 32 to Gist Road
All traffic exiting the Farm Museum grounds will utilize Center Street from the Farm Museum to Maryland 140. All traffic leaving the Agricultural Center will utilize Gist Road to Kate Wagner Road to MD 27 or MD 32/MD 97.
Access to the Carroll Hospital Emergency Room shall be made from the intersection of Gist Road and Maryland 32. Law Enforcement will be at this intersection to assist persons needing access to the emergency room.

7. Christmas in July at the Farmer’s Market
July 6 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
On Saturday, July 6th, the Carroll County Farmer’s Market will be celebrating Christmas in July from 8:00am – 1:00pm. There will be free door prize drawings all donated by participating vendors. Many of our Christmas Market Vendors will be giving a sneak peak of what is going to be available at the Winter market.
Local fresh produce available this week: Sweet Corn, tomatoes, lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, onions, peas, blueberries, radishes, zucchini, beets, squash, cucumbers, garlic, cherries, peppers, possibly green tomatoes, collards, herbs, cabbage, Cling peaches.
Homemade cakes, pies, scones, biscotti, cupcakes, muffins, cookies, and breads will be available as well as farm fresh eggs, farm raised beef, pork and lamb, and emu meats and products.
Our juried handmade crafts represented will be: jewelry, photography, painted wood crafts, pottery, fabric purses, pet portraits, fresh herb wreaths, hand painted water colors, personalized Christmas ornaments, and more.
The Master Gardeners will be talking about how to properly wash, prepare, and preserve fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as answer any of your gardening and plant questions.
The cafeteria is open during market hours for breakfast and lunch. Pancakes and egg sandwiches are great for breakfast and don’t miss out on a slice of homemade pie or cake.
The Carroll County Farmers Market is held in Westminster, Maryland at the Agricultural Center, located on Smith Avenue, adjacent to the Farm Museum.
Hours for the Summer Market are 8am-1pm.
There is no admission and parking is free.
We are handicapped accessible.
Busses are welcome.

Common Ground on the Town
KRISTEN GRAINGER & TRUE NORTH, a bluegrass-leaning Americana powerhouse of terrific songwriting, lush vocals and crazy-good instrumentalists.
Fronted by singer-songwriter Kristen Grainger, the band is comprised of multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Dan Wetzel and Pacific Northwest bluegrass superstars Martin Stevens (mandolin, octave mandolin, fiddle, vocals) and Josh Adkins (upright bass, vocals), both formerly of the Bluegrass Regulators.
Kristen is making a name for herself as a crafter of great songs, taking first place in the 2020 USA Songwriting Competition (folk), and landing a 2022 songwriter showcase at SXSW. She was named, along with Brandi Carlile and Dolly Parton, one of the “Women Who Wrote Our 2020 Soundtrack” by The Bluegrass Situation.
Kristen has collected accolades and awards at Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Wildflower Arts & Music Festival, Merlefest, Kerrville and, together with Dan Wetzel, at Wintergrass . She also won Common Ground‘s 2022 Acoustic Roots Songwriting Contest, and 2019 Roots Northwest songwriting competition.

Winfield Community VFD Carnival
July 8th - July 13th. 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM
The WCVFD Carnival will take place from July 8th through July 13th, starting at 4pm with dinner in our air conditioned hall and ending outside about 10pm. Buffet style dinners will be served from 4pm until 7pm. Nightly music, food, games, and rides will be available. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, because of your generous support we are able to maintain the latest apparatus, ensure our members have the best training, and provide the best possible services for you, our community.
We are offering advance sale ride tickets again for $20 each, a substantial savings over regular price. These tickets are good for one wristband (ride all night) for Monday, Tuesday or
Wednesday night of the Winfield Carnival.
